22 November 2023 – Roke is pleased to announce the opening of its state-of-the-art new offices, providing additional support to its customers and further developing its commercial Intelligence offering.
Located just outside of Gloucester city centre, the new premises will be home to nearly 100 employees initially, with space for up to 200. This new location upgrades Roke’s previous space in Gloucester and is part of its existing network of hubs in Romsey, Manchester and Woking, with the company now employing over 1,000 people in total.
Environmental credentials are strong throughout in support of Roke’s ambition to be Net Zero by 2050. The site includes a green roof and solar panels, with electric vehicle charging points coming soon. Secure bicycle storage and on-site showers are also available for those commuting via the new Cheltenham-Gloucester cycling route.
With a diverse workforce, inclusivity has also been at the heart of the design and includes dedicated breakout areas and quiet spaces.
The new office marks a key milestone for Roke, allowing the company to better support its customers in the area. The office has been designed to adhere to Roke’s high-tech requirements and provides a prime location for hosting clients.
The office will be the main working location for Roke’s existing Gloucester-based employees and will now also be ‘home’ for the company’s third Roke Academy cohort. The Academy focuses on non-traditional areas of recruitment to embrace undiscovered talent who may not have previously had the opportunity to enter the tech field.
Another key team that moved into the space is the Geollect team, a company acquired by Roke in December 2022 who provide value through geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) platforms to Roke’s customers. The work done by the team forms a key part of Roke’s Intelligence offering.
The new office is also expected to boost employment opportunity in the local area. Roke’s strength comes from its people and their diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and a core focus of the Group is to engage with young people working in STEM and to create opportunities for ambitious engineering talent.
