Ian Cooper
Ian is Roke’s Finance & Operations Director and joined in late 2014 after 20 years working for a range of Big 4 Accountancy Firms in their corporate finance teams. During that time he advised both corporate and private equity clients, across many sectors and geographies, on M&A transactions, with a focus on buy-side and sell-side due diligence, sale & purchase agreements, FTSE 250 mergers and refinancings. These deal sizes ranged from £1m to £1bn.
In the five years before joining Roke, Ian focused almost exclusively on the global aerospace & defence industry, building brands in that sector within the UK and working closely with counterparts in the US and other jurisdictions.
Since joining Roke, Ian has been instrumental in redefining and modernising the business. This has led to strong growth in orders and revenue, with improved profitability and cash generation. This in turn has enabled re-investment back into the business to fund innovation, developments and drive further growth.
He is a qualified chartered accountant with the ICAEW, and obtained a BSc in Mathematics & Management Studies from Kings College, London. He lives in Bournemouth with his wife and daughter.
